Myford Super 7 help plz

Hi Guys

been busy doing a strip down, clean and paint on this Myford super 7 I bought a while a ago.
As you can see in the photos, I have the head stock apart, so I might as well change the head stock V belt,

I would like to know of were I can get a quality belt from, as I dont want to be changing it again due to buying cheap, Dont really want to go the open link way.

second question, I have miss placed a grub screw (see photo) There cant be many places this grub screw is ment to go,
I normaly put things back in there place as I take things apart, must have missed this one.

any ideas were it goes???
the bin is not the right answer lol

friction!!!!!! the contact area is not the same,

I have the heads stock apart, its not like a replacment belt were one might not want all the hassle of stripping the spindle.

I doubt you'll suffer lack of drive and they are smooth running too.

Nice job on the paint BTW, very tidy.

as you have the head split id be going down the route of a car belt they take a little more stick than a normal belt does

there out in the cold and then heated by the car engine and dont usually split or fray for a long time

the open link way is to save stripping the head to replace the belt on them

I have both the spindle and the motor belts (old ones) and that was my next thought

Did the grub screw come from the headstock drive pulley?

watch which belt u get I changed mine and the new ones as tough as hell and a pig to change on the pulleys .the original one was softer and more pliable

Slim boy fat, it was in a bag with the tail stock bits (I put all the tail stock stuff into a bag when I stripped the tail stock)
only all the diagrams of the tail stock, dont show a grub screw of that type.

Brammer link belting is better than standard vee belts, they're 100% positive even taking heavy cuts, are much more flexible than standard belts & if fitted the right way round are quiet running,the thing to watch is that there's not a lot of clearance in top speed between the belt studs & the gear casing so either grind a little off the casing or not use top speed, if[when] my belt packs in I'll use Brammer link,especially as I won't need to strip the mandrel down,they are more expensive but worth it, after all you don't change them that often.

I run two Brammer type link belts on my boxford. They to run very quietly. Not a dificult a job as I has imagined to change them
