As brightspark says they have an expanding mandrel that you plug into the tail end of the spindle. You then mount a change gear onto the end and use the threaded rod to locate each tooth. Looks like one has a 16 tooth gear fitted which would give you indexing for 1,2,4,8 and 16 divisions. Probably a handier one would be 12 teeth which would give you 1,2,3,4,6 and 12 divisions.
thanks guys as you can see ive got 2 of them so only one would be used at any one time they are painted in the myford grey colour
could you advise on the indexing divisions or have some sort of sheet with the info on them i presume ive got more reading to do with indexing and divisions
They're just direct indexers, however many divisions you need must be divisible into the gear into which the detent rod goes into; presumably they can be fitted with standard ML7 change wheels.
