My workshop build.

Hey ya, just thought i'd stick a few photos of my workshop build up, progress has been really slow lately, not had anyone to help much and it's a 2 man job, weather has also been really bad here lately... anyway it's 30ft x 50ft 17ft tall in the middle clear span, photos are from a while ago so a bit more has been done since, not loads though, you get the idea

haha, yeah it's canadian, around 5000 bolts holding it together goes up pretty quick, about 6-8ft a day of fairly slow paced work for 2 people

Love it, great design, so simple i`m surprised theres not more like it around

it's made from 0.8mm galvalume steel, basically a much longer lasting type of galvanised steel (30year warranty) it's 45% zinc 55% aluminium i think something like that can't remember exactly.
don't have loads this one shows the way it's made, kind of haha

almost at the end of the main build then i have to work out what i'm gunna do about end walls and cast the floor, i knackered my self casting the foundations... floor is about twice that again, i'm in such an out of the way place ready mix is imposable to get, so i'm having to mix all the concrete onsite, in a belle concrete mixer, awful lot of work but it'll be worth it in the end.

better u than me. i mixed my own in belle mixer it was 40 x20 ft with 2 mates that was bad enough u will need about 4 people realy to get it done in a reasonable time. 2 laying one mixing and one barrowing

nah i do it almost alone, usually 1 other person helping if i can get them, i'll do it in 4 goes probably, i set the mixer up to tip into the shuttering so i don't need to do borrowing, and pile sand and bags of cement by the mixer got it pretty well worked out, it's just hard work, very handy to have a few people, but if i have to i can do it by my self or with 1 other person just have to lay while the mixer works, need 2 people for the levelling/tamping at the end on slabs though!

Can you send me some info on these Buildings? Do they make bigger ones?

How does the planning department look at it? Temporary building?
Or did you not ask

i got planning permission for on a farm (couldn't be refused but they had to be told and aprove it) don't think it counts as temporary, it has foundations, though technically doesn't need big ones whole building only weights a couple of tons, they do pretty huge ones, over 100ft wide i think and any length the arches are 2ft wide so any length that is a multiple of 2ft haha this is their site pretty easy to put up, if you had a scissor lift and 5 people it'd be really easy, i've been doing it with just those scaffold towers and 3 people for the hard bit's 2 for most of it.

oh and if you wanna do it a bit cheaper i think you can import them your self but i think it's a bit risky personally, some of mine fell off the delivery drivers forklift and damaged a few of the panels, so i'm glad i could deal with a uk company to get replacements, i still have 1 damaged panel that i need to get them to replace though, this one was damaged by their pallet *sigh* just a scratch really but they should replace it
