Hey guys. It's a long time since I came on here for some advice so I thought I should drop by and give a little update.
I've had my R-Tech 250 mig for a while now and finally I seem to be mastering the art of sticking stuff together fairly neatly. Today it ended in me sitting on the workshop floor with a load of scrap, and just sticking it together. It started off fairly boring but then I thought why not just keep welding more bits to the small pile I'd already done?! The welds were going ok so I added some legs, then continued to work my way upwards. I've now got a little rusty statue type thing... That was a good entertaining way to waste an evening!
Does anyone else find themselves doing that? I don't suppose it's much of a thing once you get the hang of it but as practice it's quite good. I welded some thick stuff, then some thin stuff to the thick stuff, then filled the bolt holes in the thin brackets that I'd used. I warped them until they were barely recognisable but hey, it's all part of learning!
I'll post up some pictures when I figure out how to get them off of my phone. Maybe I'll try to get on the forum on that and do it rather than transfer them to the laptop first? As you may have noticed, my computer skills are in the same ballpark as my welding skills - limited!
