My WARCO WM240 is dead

Finally getting it out of hibernation after moving house a year ago.

Plugged it in and there is nothing. Checked all the external fuses and all OK and can trace power through to this contactor, but access is really limited.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this model before I start stripping down? Hoping Kram may have one as he changed the internals on his.

Will also try with WARCO on Monday.

Its not suprising if the wiring was anything like mine - wires crimped with strands folded over insulation and many easily pulled off A fire/electrocution risk in my opinion.

Have you checked the interlocks, front, back and plug fuses?

I did not manage to dechiper the contractor wiring, but the rest was easy. Perhaps @daleyd is better at contractor wiring?

I still have all the parts, let me know if you need any, or want the lot?

The part underneath is the interlock switch, unless you mean part of the contractor, mine did not have one.

Best option tho, is to rip it all out, vfd and a nice 2kw 3ph motor

Warco are very good at quoting input power for drives, so likely only one horse power at most. Beware if you fit a motor almost three times the power!

I dont think its input power, mine had two values of 720w and 1.2kw which I think they pulled out of their asre.
Conversion works great, other than the time to do it. On occasion I have hit the VFD's 3kw overload limit. Turning bigger dia eats up power to get a decent depth of cut and rpm, needed for a good finish.

New motor and vfd?

Ive blown the warco lathe motor, and wanted a new one anyway with more low speed torque. It is instantly tripping the 30A circuit breaker, nothing else turned on. Im suprised the lathe control fuse and plug fuse is fine. Please recommend a motor/vfd, if that is the best type? Current motor...

Have you checked the interlocks, front, back and plug fuses?

This - should be interlocks on the chuck guard and gear housing cover. Plus e-stops maybe pushed in?

I am just completing a 3 phase vfd conversion on my Chester lathe. It's a db10gvs . The motor was getting noisy but the electronics were fine. If you diagnose your problem, and need spares your welcome to any of the parts. I suspect they may be the same. We could compare photographs if necessary.
Unfortunately I'm away to Asia for 3 weeks today, but happy to help when I return.

It turned out to be an easy fix in the end. I did a bit more digging today and found this. The wire had fallen out of the connector. The other side was lose too.
