Welding looking very neat there. Lots of it to do though to sort out those rusty bits! We had a Transit at Santa Pod a couple of years ago. It was a diesel auto.

Too late - James was asking around for help with welding at the event, and I don't think he found any. Dead Transit now I suspect.

We'll be having the event again this summer,though haven't quite figured out when. Any Transits would be most welcome to join in, even quick ones (though I bet racing between bog standard ones would be much closer).

I'd like to know where you got the exhaust components from. I'm doing an engine conversion and I need to fabricate some exhaust bits but haven't been very successful in finding the bits to start with.

Can you shed any light?

Would have been easier to start with a LDV v8
Ive had a few rotten transits (including one which the front xmember tore off a month after I gave it away) so I know how much work they require rebuilding them chassis rails etc (you can get a repair section for there if you like from most of the van specialists...)

Its basically 48mm tube joined using 48mm weldable elbows. the flanges were gased out

Got it all from my local fab shop. and thay do stainless

I have got the repair parts now and started fitting them

You can get exhaust bits to weld together from Milner offroad in Derbyshire.
