My new welder

recently I bought a very good secondhand welder off a member of this forum, it's a clarke 135te, while its not a pro machine it suits my needs perfectly as a hobbist. Today I had to repair my tandoor oven, castors had broken and needed replacing. Long storey and got some new castors , I fixed one lot of holes with some concrete fixing bolts and welded the other side with said mig, joined 2mm steel on to some 1mm, even as a novice managed to do this without blowing holes and quite acceptable welds, made me feel like a pro (even though I'm not

It made me feel good today !

I went from being a MIG skeptig to being a MIG fanatic, I had Clarke no gas MIGs about15years ago, not brilliant, having seen blokes work on here I got me a gas/no gas MIG (Gys 162).
Gas or no gas, its a great process.
Yes, it feels good to get the job done, you can now start welding up lots of projects, most of which you do not need but then you just cut em up and weld up summat else-which you don't need either-so you cut it up and........................................
But who cares? its FUN. Enjoy your Migging.

I reckon welding is has something almost primal about it ...fire, sparks and smoke ...a bit like standing over a crackling bonfire at dusk.
