hi folks after a couple of years i have finally finished my gates, i wish now i had taken pictures along the way but hopefully in the future i will be better organised, so i will now attempt to post some pics , one should be the originals and hopefully the rest will be the new ones .

yeah made my own jigs for scrolling and twisting the flat bar, they took a while to do put the twists in first and then scrolled them ,was a very happy bunny once they were all done it was worth it i think tho.

cheers pal the bird and other animals are just small things that can be knocked up pretty quickly and are fun to do i find things like that are relaxing to make.

no probs i will take some pics over the weekend , as for the paint it is rustoleum paint i find it goes on easily and gives a nice shiny finish

hi guys decided to put some scrolls on top of the gates i will put some pics up soon but in the mean time here is some of the jigs i made once again not the best images but once i get the workshop tidied up will post again.

Cool, thanks for those. Couple of questions; is that 40x8 strip the scroll jig is made from? And the twister - how does the end with the handles turn? It looks like its tacked to the frame.

hey Dev ,the scroll jig is made from 25x5 i only make scrolls from 20x3 anyway as for the twister it is basically a pipe in a pipe will take better pics for you soon too see better how it works , if it is easy to post videos i will try that too

about 19 years or so , i am a metal worker by trade but mostly light sheet metal work in stainless steel i make stuff that gets used by fire and rescue , it's only been the last 7 or 8 years that i have had a chance to get a wee shop set up at home to make some bits and pieces the gates have been the biggest job yet i have done at home .
