Yeah it’s bolted through that plate onto the external enclosure, so shouldn’t need any further earthing.Thanks for that.
I did see that but they don't look like proper earthing points on the machine and aren't marked as earths either. Although I have no doubt they are! I will just assume the vfd is safely earthed to the housing already.
You can fit contactors /switches between of you want but you need to ensure they can’t be switched while the drive is energised - it can end up writing off the drive. For a home workshop it’s easy enough to make sure you turn it off before doing it.From what I have read I take it you need to wire the motor directly to it? No switches in the way etc?
