my lincoln 180C does not feed wire.

Couple of things to try, connect the wire feed motor to a car/bike battery to see if it runs.
If you pull a length of welding wire out of the tip does it arc up on the workpiece when you pull the trigger?.

yes it will arc if I pull wire all the way thru gun. but it does not move wire

it's a brand new machine I was wondering if the rollers should be turning with no wire because it will not turn with wire I thought I might have too much tension but it does not turn but I can get an arc out of it

It's a brand new machine.. I'm just trying to figure out if the roller should run with or without wire.. I thought I might have too much tension on wire. And when I got an arc I assumed the gun was hooked up correctly

The rollers should turn without wire. If it's brand new sounds like it needs to go back under warranty.

I'm not familiar with this machine, is there a switch to stop the wire feed when you're setting the gas flow?

You have got the wire speed control set on something other than zero?
