My hefty new welding table

I say new but I bought it ages ago. Had it shipped upside down on a pallet. Today is the first time I have turned it the right way up
Originally used in a bell foundry.
36mm steel. Weight around 800kg.
Only paid £200 for it. Top looks like it needs loads of work though.
Bought some heavy duty castors for it. Only £10 each good value I thought. Too tall though so just for moving around.
My brother calls it my battleship table

Just hope those rollers are rated 800kg each. That's usually my experience of how they over-rate them selves.

No they are rated at 300kg each but they are pretty hefty and it moves effortlessly.
12mm bolts. I removed the wheels and used JB weld just to make the bolts captive. Preloaded them before the glue set as well.
British industrial supplier so not cheap Chinese rubbish.
They were cheap though but only for moving now and then.

I do use it for precision work! It at least means some of my welding ends up more or less flat...

Yer but that's not to difficult to sort. I have radical plans for a table when I build my workshop

Been working on the triumph, That big lump of cast iron isn't heating up till June I recon, Cant wear gloves and any surface you touch with bare hands sinks the heat straight from you!.

Used mine just to make some extra thick washers for the castors. Lathes are so handy.

Did you get them within your tenths tolerance , Been talking to jenny at JB cutting tools looking at those finishing inserts as well as seeing what else she recommends for the rpm and feed range and tools holders I already have as all this insert business getting confusing so thought may as well ask for pro advice they seem happy enough to help out us hobby folk which is great.

Lol of course. Even reamed them. I have hundreds they need to be used
