My gadget of the year

Lots my car key last week, £150 for new one :/ so thought I'd try this gadget:

1 yr sealed battery, keeps a constant connection with my phone, I can ring my keys from my phone, my phone from my keys, and if it falls out of range of my phone it records where so I can find where I left the keys.

I have one of those . I'm always looking for my keys before taking the kids on the school run. Pain you can't change the battery in them though

Does it work through Bluetooth?

Yup through Bluetooth. I've been monitoring battery usage and it's been low so far, only 3%.

The device does more, if the tag falls out of range of my phone, but someone else with a phone that's using a Tile tag walks past my tag then their phone automatically sends me the location. Tile reckon there are 4000 such users in my borough. I'm tempted to buy another tag, leave it in the park and see if it's true.

Non replaceable battery is a con of course, it's just an obfuscated subscription service, because you need to buy a new device every year. Very clever. But at £20 I can live with it.
