Ok, i know its not massively interesting or difficult, but i constructed it to save myself spending £50 an hour for a mechanic to replace my swingarm bushes (and the welding was pretty neat too )
The machine i used is a Clarke 130EN that i bought from Weldequip after recommendations on here. I used the gasless wire that was supplied as i built it outside, and was pleasantly surprised (after reading on here about it) how neat and relatively splatter free it was. I only have previous arc welding experience from my work experience at school (6 years ago) and managed to weld this comfortably after only about 30 minutes practice! This machine is so easy to use i would really recommend it
No pictures of the welds unfortunately since i painted it straight away, but i was pleased with the neatness and penetration i got, especially as a first project.
Best of all the metal only cost £5 from my local steel suppliers, I really expected metal to be more expensive.
