Don't waste your time fitting original type sills as box section steel is a better substitute.
If you haven't already seen them this company is worth looking at -

Seconded, did my 200TDi disco that way.

Enjoy.
I gave up on mine and went to stick welding before getting myself a better mig.
. firstly i did the wire feed modifacation to the TOPMIG as i wasnt getting any decent practice welds. 24 volt transformer and a 12 volt relay fitted and now welds as good as a "lincoln welder" according to my neighbour. as the welder welded i decided to make a sheet metal brake as i figured im gonna be bending lots of sheet metal, then it was time to spend some money so on to ebay i went and found a second hand boot floor panel that had been bolted into its previous LR so £20 lighter and have a boot floor panel, next i decided to drill all the spot welds out and remove the existing floor to find that the side panels are shot too
. what did you do next i hear you say. well after drying the tears from the wifes eyes i decided to continue the project and removed the fuel tank after 2 hrs trying to figure why it wont come out without removing the towbar
.so armed with the angle grinder ive cut away side panels of boot floor and made some replacments(see pics) ive also found that the rear x member is partly rotten too so a bit more grinding and bashing and shaping. next ive decided to replace the whole sill with box section and ive managed to find some 100x55 box section around a yard at work(an old horizontal beam from pallet racking) also found 2 peices of chequer plate that hopfully i can make into side steps (if my mig will weld aluminium?)
Keep the chequer plate and avoid the temptation to try alloy welding with that Mig and invest the money elsewhere.
