Tis good to finally be back on site again guys and gals , albeit under a new name as I've had some serious health issues of late as well as a mild stroke and got a lot of memory loss etc.
Now I'm as fit as I'll ever be and am looking to rebuild a few aspects of my life till the old birth certificate runs out in about 57 years
Still ,on to the reason for the post.
After having scooped out about 20 pounds of acorns out our pond this last few weeks I decided to sort the long standing problem out by putting a netted aluminium framed fruit cage over it. ( I already have a new bigger net ready for the modified new frame work )
All well and good , save for it having a flat net roof which would just hold the acorns and rubbish till it sagged down in to the pond. So being a bit inventive I purchased three 6 mtr long 1 inch OD aluminium thick wall tubes to make an extra height net lifter that will be permanently fixed to the fruit frame .
I have already made the first two bends to the pipe ( dead chuffed they are almost identical and in the same planes ). What I'm unsure of is if I make the second set of bends at "B" to get the pipe to lean over the pond in a half arch is where will I have to bend the pipe in relation to the dotted line shown on the pipe in the plan view .
Will I be able to use the same line as the centre mark or will I have to make a new offset one so that when I use the bender I will be able to end up with the legs parallel and vertical when it is set up with the other bent tube as an arch .
I know it may sound confusing ..see if my sketch makes it any clearer ..
Any advice would be most welcome for I'm getting the idea that I'll have to make a new line slightly to one side of the dotted line & use that as the reference point in the bender . Trouble is I haven't a clue as to how far to the left or the right of the original line I'll need to make the new reference line .
I want the end item to look as in the new plan view because to make a simple goal post frame would use too much tube ( £ 80 ish per 6 m length + VAT )and netting .
I want the final effect of both the new pipework and the fruit cage frame to look like a circus big top tent when the new netting is in place where the centre of the top stands proud in the centre of the tent and the side walls are vertical .
Thanks DAPPH
