Hi,
My first post on this forum, I've read a lot over the last year and I've a Portamig AC/DC tig in the pipeline. In the mean time I've purchased the Murex to solve a slighty porous floorpan etc.
Unfortunately, there is no current through the torch. The wire feed is ok and there is 240V in the feeds to the transformer. When the trigger is pulled the wire feeds but no voltage can be found across the wire to earth. The resistance from the wire to the earth is 0.3 ohms. The gas also feeds. I have looked for obviously burnt out components inside, and checked the two fuses for continuity. All ok.
The previous owner informs that this welder stood in a garage for a year and worked ok before.
Can anyone throw any light on this fault? Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Jonathan
