I found this old thread https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/murex-tradesmig-160.55709/ and followed the transformer resistance checks suggested by PTvor.
I disconnected the transformer to make the checks.
The primary seems to be open-circuit and the secondary is a few tenths of an ohm - almost short-circuit. Additionally the temperature sensor has detached from the top of the transformer and one of the cables from the secondary to the rectifier has scorched installation.
Does anyone know if there is any economical way to repair this welder? If not, are any of the other parts worth salvaging to rescue someone else's TM-160?
