Multi purpose tig welder plasma cutter

Can anyone advise me on these

MULTI PURPOSE
TIG WELDER
PLASMA CUTTER
ARC WELDER


I was going to buy a better welder (currently I've a Clark Stick welder). I need something that will weld thinner and thicker when required. Further I wanted to see how much Plasma cutters are. Upon checking Ebay I see that there are many combination units. Are they any good?

I need to be able to cut open 5mm thick steel casings.
Weld from 0.8mm sheets to 5mm bar to bar, steel. Most work is outside.

Any ideas..in the meantime I try and read as many old posts as possible..

If it's for business use then I'd say forget it and buy separate better quality units. Reliability on those multi-purpose machines is a bit hit-and-miss and if one part of the machine dies you've potentially lost all the processes you bought it for.
You'll also need a hefty air supply to run a plasma, have you thought about that?
You can buy plasma cutters with built-in compressors though they often won't cut very thick material so 5mm may be a little optimistic.
