Hi everyone am new to the forum. After some advice on a diy job.
Have a Kubota mower deck with holes in which needs welding. The thickness of the metal according to the manual is 3.3mm.
The set up I have is a cemont 150amp gas mig welder with 0.6 wire in. I have only ever welded thin car metal and am relatively inexperienced. I do have access to a plasma cutter to cut out sections.
What metal thickness should I use to repair? Do I cut out and try to butt weld or just plate over. What would be the best? I would like the job to last as I am keeping the mower.
Some guidance would be greatly appreciated before I Jump in.
