Have a deck bashed in so far the blades cut a 18" section off the output side of the deck:
Chopped off the bad parts.
Fitting new pieces made from 3/4" x 1/16" steel:
Curved flat part made by cutting slits in steel and bending:
Slits welded, then ground flush:
Final result (pic has been flipped over.)
Nice and strong Just needs painting.

Other problem was it would not go . Heard a ringing noise and found the drive pulley was actually split along the groove:
Took a bit for filing and pounding to get the pulley back. Then did a quick TIG fix with a bit of filler:
