I dont know if this has been posted on here yet , but this is the latest scam to ensure more motoring `convictions' stick - no matter how innocent you may be .
This latest move from `our' government just beggars belief

Just another TAX from the Labour government......trying to clear up the massive **** up it has made since it has been in power. The country is in a mess and will take a big effort to get it out of it. The recession is partly a result of this, the Americans are going down the tube the same way we have.......but quicker from what I hear from my friends who live there.

There was something on Radio 4 last week about this.

My take was it's not just about motoring - it's about anything the government want to take you to court for. The new system appears to offer your layers fees back if you win, but only up to the amount that a legal aid lawer would have charged.

The fact that you can't get legal aid to defend motoring cases, and that all the other lawyers charge more is what makes it unfair. In the past judges would have had the power to award costs to cover your legal side of things and set things right.

It doesn't seem to be a great step forward in justice. Other way around would feel more comfortable to me - that would help prevent frivolous law suits.

They are also considering not prosecuting cases if it's not financially worthwhile, so the innocent motorist coughs up and the shoplifter gets off free.

This legislation gives the police carte blanche to accuse a motorist of anything they like and still collect tax for the government by way of court fees and line the pockets of solicitors. Quite a high percentage of MPs are lawyers.

guilty until proven innocent and you will pay up until proven otherwise and once proved innocent you will only get a percentage back just to prove the law is on the side of the criminal (government) disgusting britain

I did.......who turned them back on lol It is ironic all the South Africans leave here to go there thinking it is the land of opportunity. I tell them they don't understand what it's like there. But the attraction is the benefits system they can get........there is none of that here.

Wouldnt bother me or my mates??
If not guilty we stick to our guns,,, 1 of my mates spent time in side for not paying up ( fines ) when He were not guilty and proved it but they would not belive him ,,,,,, 14 days in side full accomidation 3 square meals a day and he said it was lovley and warm???
Took 3 years to finely sort out and got a good payout in compo?

I've seen a video of a lecture given by him, and it certainly opened my eyes as to how we are actually legally bonded.

I'll certainly hold back my name from the 'policy enforcers' in future if it suits me.
