Motorcycle trike towbar carrier

Thats neat, really there is no need to suspend the trike wheel on the towbar. With a bit of thought an overun gadget could be made to clamp directly to the two fork stanchions and just rig up the brakes.

Apart from needing auto-reverse brakes I guess.

I think I get it. I was thinking a central mounting for the single front wheel of a trike as opposed to two mountings for the front wheels of a car. Are dollies for cars no longer legal?

They are legal for recovery or IF you have all the brakes for all the wheels in contact with the ground working.

Or perhaps rig up an overrun hitch to a cable which brings on/pulls the rear axle brake lever/pedal. Wouldn't be that hard to figure it out and make it all quick release.

Over run & auto reverse so it gets a bit complicated ensuring the brake force is enough.

With a car you need the vacuum assist (or similar) to work as well as just the pedal force to generate enough force to pass the specs.

Just an additional thought - if the front wheel is held rigidly vertical, will it, or its suspension/steering pivot bits, get a bit fed up with being twisted all over the shop as the rear wheels of the trike bang around over bumps?

When being ridden, there's nothing restraining it in the vertical plane, so it can move.
