most optimistic repair ever

Just thought you might like to hear this, I was asked the other day if it was possible to repair one of those log splitting serated wedges, I think they are called a grenade, Get it started in the log and whack it a few times with a 14lb hammer. Anyway the guy had snapped the first inch and a half off the tip, He had already tried to fix it himself BY STICKING IT BACK ON WITH ARALDITE. needless to say it didn't last past the first blow.

I hope you put him right and told him that he needed to use some chemical metal

Chemical metal mmm...
I once found a 50cc scooter piston skirt glued back on with chemical metal and backed by a piece of thin metal.
I actually worked and it was the "reused" head gasket that actually stopped the engine working!
The yoof of today!
It now sits on a shelf with the rest of my selection of seized race pistons.

My Dad clouted a grinding wheel on his 7" bench grinder while moving some timber & broke it in half. He glued the two halves back together with Araldite, it worked fine. I came home from college some months later having seen the grinder safety film where one bursts. I was not impressed & bought & fitted a new one.

Just grind a new point on it, it should still work.

Do you mean the line that goes through the S? If so it carries on down through the bottom of the pic & out the top through the sky.

Well, I'm nearly blind.
I saw a vertical line, but it looks like a flaw in the picture, not a bracket (I automatically looked for some 'trick' upon seeing the photo, cynical person as I am).
But it really (to me) doesn't look like any kind of bracket whatsoever.

I'm a cynical person, both because that's me and I guess I follow my father who's also very cynical!
I'm also very pessimistic!

Every time something is put in front of me to 'sell it' I'm looking for the trick, be it a spanner that offers more grip or a super strength glue.
Yet even I couldn't make out (due to blindness, lack of imagination or something else) anything that looks like a support or bracket in that photo.

I repaired a hole in a two stroke piston once with a brass rivet - it was still running well after I sold it

the area I pointed out on the floor looks to have had a base sunk in and covered over then there is a vertical area at the bottom of the hoarding the same width which is probably the front of he structure that holds the car

Looks like a bracket of some sort at roof level and in the picture of the yellow Cortina the person sticking out the window appears to be behind an upright bar
