Saved me offering. I was just about to when I read your reply.Yeah if you need them give me a shout and I'll knock them out on the lathe.
The Dual Purpose exemption for O licence stops at 2040kg unladen weight.
Most twin cab pickups & 4x4's will be over that.
Tacho exemption ends at 100km radius or if carrying other peoples goods ect.
The two lists of exemptions are long & full of conditions.
Yes it does the hitch is a bit high on the P38 but even with a dropper plate its still too high for the trailer once we found a few images on line we recognised the issue, spoke to the maker who doesnt sell them but told us its common for people to remove them to lower the hitch height.Does it need them? Check the hitch height when it's level, there's a standard height. Also check your towbar when the vehicle is level.
Thanks thats very kind of you I will keep you posted, I was wondering about two bits of 40 x 40 box with two holes drilled in parallel to the chassis hitch bolted on top as I could soon knock that up?Yeah if you need them give me a shout and I'll knock them out on the lathe.
...I was wondering about two bits of 40 x 40 box with two holes drilled in...
Towing with a P38 that's a slightly bit higher than stock, the trailer is a low floor model and has the spacers to lift the hitch to normal heightA bag of repair washers and stack them up as high as you need. Why does the hitch need raising, what are you towing it with ?
Going to have a look at the weekend, I think a section of box with holes in it and sleeve the holes so it cant crush would be the easiest routeI'd go solid steel, or properly sleeved box section (so it can't crush)
or not at all... the hitch takes a bit of battering, it needs to be tight with bolt tension, if it comes slack you'll break something fairly rapidly.
Too expensive and often just cant get the right height, fully adjustable ones are a fortune
Nope the easiest route is measure the length and ID of spaces needed.Going to have a look at the weekend, I think a section of box with holes in it and sleeve the holes so it cant crush would be the easiest route
I wonder what the standard tow ball height is?
