More Skoda gremlins

Fairly common across all marques just now, due to a shortage of techs who actually know how to fix vehicles.

Strange I was talking to my next door neighbour who is a manager today and he was saying they are struggling to get techs who can actually fix things once they retrieve the votes etc.

Does your Topdon have service functions ? If so you should be able to code the battery

It does but I don't think it will re-code a VAG car.

special battery for stop start make sure you get the correct one
and sit down before you get a price for it

Can't you just turn it off??? It's one of the more stupid ideas anyway.

Excellent result. I have never had a wastegate seize up. more likely linkage with a petrol vehicle as it gets hotter than a diesel.

Cant help but wonder how much the main dealer would have charged, and how much the new turbo, actuator, and rear brake calipers would have cost. Oh, and we have topped up the windscreen washer bottle, so there is more scribble on the bill to make it look like we have done more.

They've brought out an official upgraded rod, I think it's just the holes are drilled a bit bigger

You can on most VAG's but it defaults to back on again every time you start up. There are more permanent ways to get around it but they usually involve something else not working as it should.
