Finings when kegging beer? I’ve used powdered gelatine, but it’s a faffy process hydrating with cold water, then adding boiling water to sterilise. Looking for something I can just throw in to the keg.

Regulator for ‘cask’ pressures? All kegs currently get 20 psi of 60/40 CO2/N2. Certain ales are better with just a few psi to emulate pumping out of a real ale cask. Is there an inline PRV/gauge I can slot in for these?

For the 2nd question, yes, you can add secondary regulators/gauges for various pressures to different kegs.
I've probably got some if you want some. Certainly got the secondary regs, not sure about the gauges.

If it's only for pushing the beer out then 40/60 might be better than 60/40. Probably got a bottle of that as well if you are anywhere near Frome?

Ideally it would get spliced into the 1/4” ID gas line, barb fittings either end. Could probably knock something suitable up. Gauge not essential.

I think all the ones I have will be for 3/8" push fit tube.
Thats the industry standard although they also use 1/2" for high volume dispense.

If you are using hard tube (ie not the braided type) then iv probably got push-fit adapters/reducers

Yes, it’s 3/8” OD hard tube.

Edit: Having said that, it’s braided tube up to the keg. I’m sure I can knock up something, though.

They probably have lock rings on the adjusters so you could set them to 2psi and lock them off.
For a top blanket on ale I normally just slowly turn it on until I just hear gas flowing then leave it at that.
I've not done any home brewing, I'd guess if you have a particularly active brew you might want some sort of relief valve as the secondary regs won't vent off over pressure like a primary will.
Although I'd guess it's fully finished fermentation by the time you keg it anyway?

I never use keg finings, I use copper finings in the boil, AKA seaweed irish moss, and I rapidly cool the wort after the boil to get the "cold break"

Thanks. Yes, it’s fully fermented and chilled down to 8-12C.

Might not be worth it then. Either Irish moss loose or protafloc In the boil. Cold break (hopefully) happens in the counterflow chiller, and any crap/trub (hopefully) sinks into the conical part of the fermenter,

I occasionally use some finings but generally leave it in the fermenter for a couple of days longer and it drops clear. If it's in a keg the nice cold carbonation process helps drop any sediment out and it all gets squirted out into the bucket that you run the line cleaner/water into before putting a glass under the tap for the beer.
