The panel I've attached as a pic with the upright for the controls etc, the bracket I'm missing attaches to where you've labeled 1 and clamps to the ways.
I could make something to do the job but would like to see an original to try and copy.
And yes on the last picture, again, easy to make something to do the job, harder to make something that looks like it was always there, I might just be being fussy though!

No hydraulic drive's in CVA's. Yes, the early 10EE's had it until about 1941, but never in a CVA AFAIK.
The vast majority of them had/have a 12 speed gearbox in the base and the wheel on the front is just a gear selector
In later years Cole's made some with DC variable speed drives. Unlike the Monarch DC drives the Cole-CVA was step-less.
Bizarrely this was achieved with a Reeves (expanding pulley) system in addition to the field/armature control of the DC motor.
Ah, sorry @Pete. Step-less wasn't quite what I was trying to say. 'Without stopping and changing gear' would have been better!
As you know 10EE's have a two speed gearbox in the base. Described as 'Open Belt' and 'Back gear'
Perhaps yours doesn't have it any more (ISTR yours is on a VFD), but round dial and square dial 10EE's all have this gearbox.
For lathe use I think it's hard to get a 100:1 speed variation just with field/armature control of a DC motor.
This is probably why the system that Cole used on their variable speed CVA's incorporated a servo adjusted Reeves drive in the middle of the power train.

I used the parts diagrams in this extensively for the apron, tailstock, feed gearbox and saddle.
Obviously the drive system is completely different.
There are also lots of threads about 10EE's (& a few on CVA's too) on Practical Machinist in the Monarch section here:

The extract below from the 1942 manual shows the Monarch taper turning attachment bracket.
Hopefully @Pete. can provide you with enough detail to enable you to make something.
The cover on the back of the headstock that you are missing houses some electrical stuff.
On later machines (like mine) it's just an empty alloy box!
@montyjn might be able to help with some pictures of this item.
As yours is running I assume the electrics are housed elsewhere.
I have been fairly lucky in finding spares for mine.
Joe Corner near Burton-on-Trent has or had a number of them and might be able to help.
I had a complete apron from him.
He occasionally does a you-tube of machines/regrinds. eg:
LeBlond Regrind
but I don't think he has a web site.
