Modifying ignition switch to push button engine start.

I have booked the car in for mot early August . The car ignition switch randomly switches on the starter motor when driving, this caused the starter motor to burn out after a 15 minutes journey during which I did not realise the starter was engaged until I stopped the car when the starter was already on fire, white smoke billowing out, I was happy that the car did not completely catch fire, it was a lot of smoke. I fitted a second hand starter and bypassed the clutch pedal starter switch to manually switch off current to the solenoid but its an on/off toggle switch so I expect that will not do for the mot ? I also have a push button type switch in a box, its an industrial type AEG wafer switch mounted on a din rail which I will screw to the dashboard. I want to wire this to bypass the start position 3 on the ignition switch, it looks clumsy but its not blocking the dashboard view is within easy reach, I cannot get a replacement ignition switch in time, will this arrangement be likely to pass the mot ?

Should be OK for test as long as you tell the tester how it works

converted my T4 to secure it years ago.....
mines got a hidden low profile button switch on the lower dash support panel.....
u would never know it was there...
my prev addressT4-5's were just disapearing overnight....
never been a prob with the MOT....actually the guy's understand the anti theft idea....

Was water in the bsi module on my Peugeot 207sw caused this fault.
Removed the wire from starter and ran a wire from battery + via a fuse and in car switch to bypass.
Eventually fitted a relay with the trigger taken from the ignition switch, still working 3 years later.
