So I bought the 170 amp MIG welder last fall during a sale, and then the Spool gun came on sale a few months later.
Works well on aluminum, but the spool is "up" and the lead comes in the "back" and the handle (with motor) is "down"
making it quite cumbersome:
The spool gun for the other line of welders is much better, but does not fit my machine.
So I carefully took it apart, and trimmed a small area for the power lead to project from, and then did a tight bend
down (it should be inside the handle, but no room). This enabled me to rotate the spool holder almost 180 degrees down.
Still works just fine.
