anyone got one of these ere "samsung solid emmerse" phones??

sposed to be waterproof, dustproof, and prety good for surviving drops on the floor.

sounds ideal for meself, as me phones have a hard life, and i aint into these ere "i phone" things.

wondered if anyone has one, and what they recon to them.

Motorola Defy is supposed to be a very similar thing.

Im due an upgrade next week, the choice is bewildering nowadays!

i have a samsung have had it two years of hard abuse and it works fine. goes climbing, kayaking and to work with me daily in overall pocket etc and it still works great. the only slight worry i have is the charger port is a bit fiddly and its easy to put it in the wrong way especialy with a cheep car charger. i did kill the first one that way but i'd had it a week so took it back as faulty

I have the B2100 Solid Extreme and it is fantastic. You can even speak to people with it submersed in your pint! Also the torch is really good. I agree with the above comment about the charger hole but that is a minor issue.

At a BBQ and chatting to people showing them a picture on it, a mate grabs it chucks it across the garden off the house wall and in to the icy beer bin. People stood looking at him and me thinking it was all going to kick off. I said you had better ring it and walked over to the bin. There it was glowing and vibrating in the bottom.

I have just ordered the newer B2710 which is similar as my contract is up and it shoud be here Monday.

The B2710 has arrived and is charged, seems nice. It has internet stuff, it will do hotmail and facebook and even I had those set up in less than 5 mins. Bit bigger than the 2100 but feels lighter. Has a compass and Orange maps if needed too.
