I popped into Tesco today to try and get some more data allowance.

They have a Clubcard deal on at the moment, 100gb per month fixed for 2 years, £14 a month.

Though that was very reasonable, I use a fair bit due to carplay etc but can't imagine chewing through 100gb!.

I was with three and my sim only contract ran out a couple of years ago, so they said they could no longer do it at £5.60 a month (1GB data, unlimited texts and unlimited minutes and were putting it up to £7 or £8 a month. I had a quick look and thought I'd go with smarty as they use the Three transmitters. it turned out that Smarty are owned by Three (and have the same address). Smarty are basically Pay as you go paid monthly in advance and it looks like you can change the "contract" from one month to the next, and if you're running out of data you can but additional data at a reasonable rate. so if your out of contract with Three, it may be worth looking at Smarty.

I'd change my other unlimited data sim, but I have a weird technical issue with my Santander bank account on my laptop. If I put Three Sim card in a mobile wifi router its fine, if I put the Three sim in my phone and use it at a mobile hotspot it keeps logging me out of the bank account. If I use the Smarty Sim, it keeps logging me out of my bank account if its in the mobile router or my phone. every other account I have works fine from using the mobile wifi or a mobile hotspot from my phone.

I changed from 3 to Smarty when 3 removed European roaming from my contract (they had removed it from new contracts way before) when I started with Smarty, there turned out to be some kind of problem porting over my old (since the days of analogue 'brick' phones) number. Not sure if it's changed since, but then Smarty customer service was either a robot by text, or someone (who was clearly servicing numerous customers) by text; i.e. there was no option to actually speak to a human being. In a month of intensely frustrating back and forth, they couldn't/wouldn't/didn't port my number over. So I went to ASDA Mobile, with a deal costing £7 month, number ported without drama, European roaming included, unlimited minutes, 5Gig data (IIRC). ASDA use the Vodaphone network, the couple of times I've needed customer service they have been human beings who have simply fixed whatever issue.

i go through 80gb a month easily and can go through more

im at 80gb 20.00 through 1 sim and 50gb 15.00 through another sim both are non contract though and i go through both rather well

but i always make sure that i use all of the data but not all of the time
