mobile drill press stand.

now i have got 2nd lathe in shop notcher as ended up in corner making it difficult but not impossible to use.
as anyone built a decent sturdy mobile stand for drill press?
obv is going to be top heavy so thinking along lines of wheels that can be jacked down. maybe using cog on each corner linked by chain and one leg with nut welded on top to jack with.
stand is on is 40x40x2mm box and 4mm steel tread plate.
all ideas/ suggestions welcome.

Could you make something to bolt to the wall that it could slide in/out on? A couple heavy sections of box to use as rails...?

Jockey wheels (as fitted to traliers) might be worth considering.

What's the length of blue tube with a flange for, behind the wooden rail, against the wall? That looks like a good candidate for some form of stand, if it's not already.

Wooden skids are another possibility, unless your floor surface is rough as sin. Simple yet effective. Good load spreading, no wheels to run away yet they make moving something a lot easier.

no room to move it as only space will hopefully have milling machine going in it soon.
can't punch hole in wall as back's onto public path, one side is neighbour's garden other side is narrow walkway between house and shop.
final wall is painted with pic we did for dad.
blue tube is part of stand for a bead roller that gets assembled when needed.
you wouldn't want one of the lathes one is chinese the other 75 yrs old and smoother than the 4 yr old chinese.
prob is only going to get worse as might be buying a myford capstan lathe.
