Mk6 fiesta heated windscreen failure

wifey got in her motor today to find the drivers side wasn't working.

I've checked fuses, and relay. Both are OK and you can hear the relay switching.

I've taken the schuttle off, and cant find any wiring.



Help please

Wiring is on inside along with the bonding, I doubt you will be able to fix it if the connection on the screen has gone, don't see how 1 side works though

same on my fusion, the n/s works fine o/s doesnt. It is usually the connectors to the screen that corrode & fail. New screen needed for mine to sort it out, yours will probably be the same.

I've only ever seen 1 connection to each side so if 1 side works the problem must be within the glass is it de laminating anywhere

My Mondeo was the same only the passenger side worked, when I sold it I was honest about it to the buyer, he just said no problem its insured, where's me hammer....

I had thought of that, but it gets used throughout the yr, its been a good car to be fair, she's had it from new, and this is the secound fault its had (1st been speedo, that still works when it wants to)

The weather will warm up use it all summer and get it replaced later on In the year, that way any chips in the screen from summer motoring won't be in a new screen

Friend of mine has a Mondeo and his only clears the driver's side so he is alright with that.

Wiper motor assy' is different on that model. Ours is bolted to the strut top

I've had plenty of mondeos and the drivers side (the one you want to clear) is always the first to go.

Way back when heated rear screens were a delicate novelty one could buy a little bottle of "conductive paint" with a brush in the screw top to apply over any break in the element. If it is a bad connector to the o/s section of the screen it may be possible to repair it if that material is still available
