Mk1 Fiesta Ghia

great work burt the green one looks lovely with the roll cage A posts! What engine is going in when your finished?

The Green one has a Honda Civic SIRII engine in it, 170bhp

This Ghia is keeping its standard 1100 engine as its my boys first car so needs cheap insurance for a few years.

He has plans for a 2.0 Zetec Turbo though but I dont think I will let him, maybe a modern TD as i dont think thats been done.

i saw a blue one at fiesta in the park with a 1.8td and another blue one with a ka endura engine. Zetec turbo and get that non ford heart out of the engine bay lol

Cool, Ive not seen the TD done so that must be a first. I know of the Endura one its a nice car. You must own a Fiesta then?

Zetec's have been done to death in mk1's there are probably more zetec'ed ones than standard engines now Id much prefer to do something different than follow the sheep plus there are far better engines around than the Zetec now.

I think maybe a engine out of an AE86 or an early EVO might end up in this one.

Really great stuff like everyone has said, I must admit that we like the Mk1s more than the rest as well as mini's and morris minors we have 3 of the things 1 is my son inlaws pride piece which he rebuilt with his dad, and we have 2 others to rebuild 1 may never see the light of day again to much rust but the interior can be used to get the new 1 back on the road as it has 1 bit to fix and thats the rear driver arch, i saved it from the scrap yard at the cost of £200 a lot less than we payed for the rust bucket which was someones daily driver. will follow this post with some interest to see what you do, although others may not like the intended engine we will put in once its all finished as it will be a nissan turbo lump.
which will still be front wheel drive the engine we intend to use can put out around 280bhp and its not much bigger than the 16 crossflow thats in my son inlaws car.
