Mixing Jotun 90 - first time user question

I've got a gallon of White Jotamastic 90 after reading on here. It's to overpaint to protect the repairs to my camper sills, jacking point and body.

How do people measure out & mix small quantities? I think it's 3:1 paint /activator? I'm guessing it's quite critical to get the ratio correct?

(I'd like to mix small amounts to cover areas that have Bilt Hamber Etchweld & BH Dynax Seam Sealer applied, plus perhaps onto bare metal - wherever useful basically!).

The clear mixing pots aren't dear with the ratios marked on them. I bought a load ages ago but they tend to get written off with Jotamastic.

For a cheaper solution yoghurt marked joghurt pots etc. Just use some water and a syringe or other measuring device and mark the levels. Dedicated clean pots to scoop it out of the original containers.

You throw out your yoghurt pots? Oh bummer . We've got a cupboard full of them for mixing paint etc., if you're desperate.

I put a dog water bowl inside a plastic bag, put that on some scales

Pour in about right amount of paint (guess) check the weight and add weight of needed hardener

I think ratio changes between 1:3 and 1:5 depending on temperature... there's a sticker ontop of the tin with it on

I'm dabbling with a bit of jotun hardtop at the moment and weigh it out into a paper cup on some scales.

You can get a dozen syringes from Amazon for £5. Ideal for measuring out small quantities of paint etc. You can get a couple of goes out of them if you wipe them off between uses.

Small quantities are better weighted out on decent scales.
It's so thick it's difficult to gauge the ratios with the graduated cups.
The syringes work better but are messy.

SML have a very useful chart for ratios by weight of most Jotun products.

Weigh it out - weight ratio is different to volume ratio (I’ve posted a link previously edit: the same one Dcal just posted)

Be wary of syringes - a couple of people on here have had problems with silicone contamination, even from ‘sterile’ syringes.

small scales or for tiny amounts i have a packet of disposable spoons and measure it out with those then sling em , try to be accurate but my slap dash ways has always made it cure no problem

Any mixing I've done is with a cat food tin and a steel ruler.Easy to work out percentages with the ruler scale.
