mitsi l200 clutch master cylinder.

anybody replaced a mitsi l200 2012 b40 clutch master cyl.? according to manual you need to fully strip complete dash !! I am hoping to go in from the floor.....

Hmmm, Well I thought it was , old master cyl went leaving clutch pedal on floor , new master fitted , new slave fitted ..pedal still on floor , bled and got fluid through but no pressure to make slave even twitch and pedals just spring to floor ..like return spring reversed ,What am I missing never had a problem before with clutches/cylinders.

Try back bleeding the system , connect a hose from the nearest brake bleed nipple to the clutch bleed and pump the brake pedal to push air upwards through the clutch system

I had a right mare getting my brothers to bleed after we did a clutch on it. Persevering is all that seemed to work!

thanks for reply , thhe blead nipple is only 5 mm away from bar so cant even get blead tube on,saying that nipple is overly long so possibly get shorter one on it then either back bleed as you suggest or eazi blead the sucker. cheers

Yeah this was the same. Had to have him move it by hand while I bled at the slave, keeping a close eye on the level in the tiny reservoir! They're renowned for being a pain apparently.

got the blue point vacuum out , will get on with it when it stops raining..

Sheesh , spent another two hours on it , tried vacuum , normal bleeding but just no joy , do you have to bleed master cyl at first pipe connection first? getting dribbles of fluid through but obviously way too much air in system.

If you can get a vacuum bleeder connected you should be able to back bleed the system!

Thanks for prompt reply , went to local mot garage as bleed nipple was way to long on slave , stuck out so far you could nt get pipe on,as no gap to body bracket, luckily mech. there found a short one for me , and I can jam a 90 deg pipe connector on , so thought hey ho this will vac out ok , hmmm. so yes might try your method next , never heard of that before but actually sounds quite obvious . darn things really fighting me it seems , but will get there ......hopefully ! cheers

I do have an ezi bleed , but due to the strange ratchet type cap on master cyl I cant use it , but may try to find some other way of fitting a suitable cap to fit , which would enable me to pressure bleed , or re jig it if poss to pressre bleed from slave , similar to brake like @Melvyn Best suggests.

I have a spare section of flexible hose that I use which fits my Sealey pump up pressure bleeder . From memory ,doesnt the L200 have a long horizontal run of pipe across the rear of the engine bay which traps air?

Hi, thanks for the interest , yes thats what I am thinking connect ezi bleed direct to slave bleed and go from there , Milners just called back.the tech guy , went through procedures as I have done them, he suspects duff master cylinder (very quickly) which makes me think its happened before, and is sending replacement . In the mean time I might try and isolate master and bleed seperate . there is a horizontal(ish) pipe accross but like brake pipes if pressure is there from master it should nt cause any grief .cheers

Hmmm some of these aftermarket parts are ***! out of the box - I'm not saying it's all milners fault but some shogun brake pads from them (and a water pump from FAI) failed to fit correctly - the chinese problem again...after that I tend to buy blue print if possible...

Urghhh, so fitted second new master , yes that pressurises up to clutch damper , so I tried reverse pressure and I can get fluid though dribbling out that from slave , but connect it up , attempt to bleed , tiniest dribble .pedal on floor. Presuming the damper is foobar or holding air , so looking at getting bypass hose for that so you have the "normal" master straight to slave . some what testing my patiance

Yep sounds like the damper is fubarred itself, you'll probably get better clutch feel with it out of the way - I don't think they're strictly necessary anyway. Going the other way, Mitzibits have prob got a s/h replacement - there carriage charges are outrageous tho..

At least now you can drill out one of your many m/cyl caps to take the eazibleed fitting - make jobs in the future easier

So , cracked the hard pipe feeding the top of the damper valve , pressure bled from slave , re tighten then tried pressure bleed rirght through, wasnt having it , half a pedal and not returning ..so pressure bled from master ,could nt seem to get anything through yet now full pedal ?!, yes slave was compressed while bleeding . so clutch working , couple mm free play at slave rod as you should , but pedal fractionally higher than brake which I dont like . but hey ho its a working clutch , might have a tiny bit of air left or just fettle on the master adjuster , the techie at milners reckoned most normally bin the damper valve and pipe straight through as they are such a ..to bleed .
