One of this weeks jobs, 3 off these stainless steel mirrors, will be mounted on a wall over a conveyor so that the operators can monitor the process from one position, made from 18swg, (1.2mm) sheet with adjustable brackets from 50 x 50 angle, they are bigger than the photo makes them appear, 1300mm long x 300 wide

Is that just a polished surface? If so will it stay shiny or will it tarnish?

It's stainless, it won't tarnish in the proposed environment will it?

Mirror polished sheet is quite expensive, so I cheat and buy bright annealed material then fine finish it with a mop

Stainless mirrors do lose their shine over a period of time, these are in a dry but humid area, others I have done in the same area seem to last a couple of years or so before needing a re polish, as long as they don't get scratched restoring the mirror takes about 15 minutes, so its not really a problem, and I get paid for doing it.
