Mirka sanding set up

I'm toying with the idea of getting hold of a set up like this for sanding walls/ceilings and also have it set up with a smaller hand sander for skirts/doors etc.

Full redecs on houses is something that's regularly on the cards and the time it takes to hand sand, as well as the dust and clean-up after a sanding sesh is fast becoming tiresome.

Mirka and Festool seem to be the main players. Has anyone got experience of these sorts of systems?

Most of the wall sanders I have seen on site we're festool

Personally I've usually found mirka to be easier on the hand but not much in it and I'm sure the newer stuff from both will be very good

Vac needs to be m class and self cleaning if you are sanding plaster or anything that produces really fine dust or it just blocks

My friend is a decorator. He is good enough that he is booked up for most of next year, so would, undoubtedly, have similar kit if it would earn him...

He does not.

Now I don't know any more details than that, but it makes me think that, if someone doing the job full time doesn't think it's worth it, it may not be worth it to the rest of us either?

I've got one of these, not in the same league as the ones you linked but it does the same job.
It works quite well on plaster but is heavy going!
I used it on the house extension as I wasn't happy with the finish of the plastering but haven't bothered using it since.
