following on from my post showing the socket I sunk in the ground,here’s the intended penetrator,having sat in the yard since October some adjusters had seized ,1 in particular sheared ,so got replaced with a gate eye,the back 3 weren’t correct when I bought it ,so have been waisted in the centre section and re-sprung.
The sample is a piece of 20 square,I’m puzzled why the r/h flap plate,which controls the radius,has its leading edge beyond the fixed l/h jaw at the front,atm,I’ll leave the flap loose to change the fulcrum point.my smaller Samson has its flap well right.
Btw I may fit weather strips at the base of the pedestal....a round tuit.

Just seen a yt video,and they have the extended flap/paddle,but only 1 adjusting screw bearing on it,also mines tapered.
Ps could be getting nerdy .

That wasnt made in China ,, you could have ten for the steel in that one , and maybe a family sized car left over .
Proper job that is.

I’ve got a FJ Edwards one of those. Most useful.
