Mira Sport shower leaking.

Only when operating normally, it pours water out from the bottom. I had to case off to have a look and it wasn't the hose connection. Operating it with the case off caused a lot of fine spray, from no obvious source. My feeling was just to buy a new one until I saw the price.

Any suggestions?

its been a long time as ive not had one for a 10 years but our gansbrough unit there was plastic ball bearing that was a pressure releaf protection if the pressure in the tank water gets 2 much it releases you cant put it back in its a once use thing and then you buy a new internals

seams to have water around in blue the most

the red bit is the water intake ? as a guess have you cheaked the seal in there ?

that side plate covering the cables should just lift away to give you access (turn power off first)

A plumber friend advised me that once you start repairing electric showers it is the start of the end as other things start to go wrong after reassembly and the costs soon exceed the cost of a new one. Don't let this put you off especially if you can do it yourself but be prepared.

Don't just turn the electricity supply off check that it is off at the shower with some form of tester not just live to neutral but both live and neutral to earth as well and carefully check the tester on a known live thing afterwards and don't forget to turn the water supply off.

I have a working mira sport shower that was taken out when we refurbished our bathroom.
I wanted to refit it but a new shower came as part of the shower pod we installed.

I've had the overpressure rubberised BB thing pip out a couple times in the dog shower after very hard frosts. I've no idea where it is in the system now but it went back in fine.

this, I have also found the little black pressure relief BB in the casing. Cant see it on your diagram though

eBay would be a good 'dip your toe in the water' place to see if the piece is sold as a spare part.

If no-one is selling anything close to its description/function, it probably does not exist.

Personally I think you'll end up having to do this again, and again. Save the hassle and just fit a new one, the Triton ones have always been pretty decent, a couple here

From my experience a few years ago MIRA declined to sell me spares on the basis that they didn’t want “unauthorised “ repairs. So I bought a new one. Same water and electrical connections but slightly different in that the new one has an air pump which makes the user think they’re getting a really strong shower.

This was the issue we had with ours. Fitted a new shower head and shortly after it was pouring out the shower unit. Had to replace the part from a spare shower I'd kept after the heater the main board had failed.
