mini excavator ram - where from ?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a replacement hydraulic cylinder / ram for the dipper arm on my mini excavator

It's an Hitachi EX 8

cyl is 60 od x 50 bore,
rod = 25 or 30
pins = 25
lug = 35 wide
closed length = 600
open length = 850

I've looked on interweb & fleabay - no luck

any ideas who does them,

Ram Repair

Is the ram beyond repair? If it is just leaking then seal replacement is not too difficult or expensive, and even if the rod is bent there are firms out there that will replace them. I've been known to straighten a bent rod on a press before now when needs must!

Most of the better hyd. companies will take whats left of your ram, cut anything reusable of it, machine up replacement parts and weld it all back together. Ive had this done many a time and its surprisingly cheap- about half the cost of a non genuine ram and about a million times cheaper than from Hitachi or any other genuine part. Just get a quote before they start or these firms can try it on!!

As said you must have a local Ram shop, even if they have to build you an entire new cylinder I can guarantee it will be far less than Hitachi...
