Mini digger wiring

Parked my mini digger up for about a year, went to use it... drove fine but no other hydraulics working

Stripped it right down, found a broken wire to a solonoid.. fixed that... digger working again!


But looking at it, wiring was a total mess, it had been bodged a lot, lots of solid core wire which is obviously going to break over time

Decided full rewire so ripped all the old stuff out, almost finished now

But... there's 3 hydraulic solonoids down deep in it, I assumed theyre on/off with ignition power and the safety switch in the arm rest...

Now I'm wondering... is that right? They'll be powered on constantly when engine is on and arm wrest is down?

Theres safety switches built into both hydraulic joysticks but they'd both already been bypassed

We took the cab of one of the small diggers to paint and tidy up a few things, painted and re fitted switched on and it spent 30 seconds talking to us in an oriental language, never found how to stop it.
Was funny really so we left it

They'll probably kill the pilot pressure to the solenoids. Dad's digger is cable driven pilot but there's a bypassed solenoid which kills all hydraulics to the controls when the arm isn't down.

my worry is they shouldn't be powered all the time, don;t want to find out the hard way!

it's some Chinese copy digger... bought it sight unseen on bid spotter, had a mate collect it for me... if I'd have gone myself I'd have left it where it was, nothing like the photos

got it cheap enough that it's not bad for the money.... I'd have looked for a replacement but it has a cracking engine in it, once the re-wire is done and it's tidied up a bit it should be spot on

started was burnet out when I got it, rebuild it with ground down bushes from a started out of the scrap bin next door, it's been spot on ever since

it used to drain the battery so I'd disconnect it when leaving it... after I left it sitting for a year, I gave it a quick spin to make sure all was good, second spin it started right up like I'd just been using it
