Milwaukee M18 chop saw

Has any one got one? Are they any good/worth the money?
I have a few fencing jobs coming up, sure the skill saw would do the job but one of these would make it quicker and easier. I am considering splashing out on one.

Just be aware, one way of getting better battery life is to use a thin blade with little kerf; less material removed = longer battery life. However this can cause problems when cutting damp timber, and materials that have a tendency to close up, nipping the blade.

Saw is ordered as well as a 9ah battery I also ordered a 24T and a 30T blade as it comes with a 60T I though the more teeth on the blade the slower the cut so the more it will drain the battery

Meh. For fencing and sleepers a speed square and a skilly is the best option.

That won't cut 4" btw. Max height is 89mm
So will need to flip posts anyway.
Need a 305.

Those 9ah batteries are great. Use it all day, swapping from one tool to the other and still plenty of charge left.

Are the 9ah super heavy? Can't see myself using that on a hand tool. Talk about fatigue! Probably best suited to the chop saw & table saw etc

Tis a bit posh really for fencing, but if it saves you time, it will increase your esrnings once its paid for its self!

I have the fuel circular saw, and its impressed me, not sure how they will fair in the rain if your fencing. Ive just done 300 meters of stock proof fencing with a rail on top, just use a small chain saw to cut the rails.

If Im needing a chop saw Im always in reach of the mains so much as Id like a red one, cant justify it with two mains ones already ( evolution for pallet wood, fire wood etc, makita for proper stuff)

They’re heavier but not massively compared to a 5ah. I’ve used it on a Torque gun where it is noticeable as the tool is heavy even without a battery but on drills, angle grinders, impact drivers and circular saws it’s not any more awkward.

EDIT. Just looked up the weight difference 720g (5ah) 800g (9ah)

I have the fuel circular saw too great bit of kit so it the reciprocating saw. my 2 chop saws are mains too I had 4 but 2 died now cutting up fire wood,
