I recently purchased a universal milling machine in the uk and im wondering whats the best/safest/cheapest method to transport it to Ireland? its a horizontal mill and weighs around 450 kgs, it will be fairly top heavy so im wondering if pallet shipment is advisable? im also unsure if it could be lifted on to a pallet at the other end yet any help appreciated, item located in the midlands, can anybody recommend me a method or company? thanks

I bought a Lathe from Snowcat on here, a few years ago. He put it on a couple of pallets. It was collected from his place and dropped at mine for £100 ish stg.

Used to have 2000kg robots delivered, they were packed in custom built wooden crates with internal supports/bracing to stop them falling over in transit.
