Miller Titanium 9400 battery problems

I have the above mentioned welding mask and its got a really bad habit of eating batteries when not in use. I do switch it off when I'm not using it, and there is usually a period for weeks in between use. So does anyone else have this issue? I'm using Diall batteries at the moment, maybe they are crap?

i do know theres a differance in battery quality other halfs father ended up buying 4 sets of batterys before getting a camera working even bought duracell from poundland even they would not work went to boots bought a 4 pack duracell for 4.50 ish powered on and was working fine

Not sure on what batteries it takes but the Duracell Industrials I find very reliable for most stuff.

A lot of battery driven items use logic or transistor to switch & it draws current not much but enough to lower battery voltage to the point where they don't work
Some kit only require voltage to drop by 0.75 volts to stop working
We have a fair bit of test equipment that is used once every ---- & we have fitted proper switches in battery lead

Bloody thing has chewed the batteries again! I'll give it a go on a decent brand before smashing it into a million pieces.
