how do i go about changing the plug on a miller maxstar200. currently it has a 415v 5 pin and i want to change it to a regular 240v 3 pin.
do i just need a new extension off miller?
i also have one of these sets,if you go on the miller web site you will find the hand book for the set from the serial number so you get the correct set wireing.
what ive done on my own set is use a 415(red plug) on the plant lead, then use a trailing 415(red socket) with a 240(blue plug) and the same with a red socket with a 110 plug, saves keep wireing plugs on if you use it on differant power sources just plug in what ever adaptor you need.
ive just had a look on the miller site this is what is stated in the hand book for single phase wireing;red; wire not used.green or green&yellow;earth.black; live.white;neutral.
IF YOUR WIRES DONT MATCH THESE COLOURS THEN BEST TO FIND OUT WHAT SET YOU HAVE AS THEIR ARE 3 TYPES OF MAXSTAR SETS NOT ALL OF THEM ARE DUEL PHASE/VOLTAGE I BELIVE.
IF NOT LEAVE IT TO A SPARKY(WHO SHOULD KNOW WHAT THAY ARE DOING! REMBER MILLER ARE MADE IN USA,SO THEIR WIREING COLOURS DIFFER TO HERE IN THE UK)
There's nothing to do inside them, it's auto sensing to connect to 120v to 460v single or 3 phase. A friend of mine has the Dynasty 200DX with the same system.
