Miller 350P single phase

Right now my Miller 350P is hooked up to single phase and it seems to run fine. I can connect it to 3 phase if i wanted, i would just need to get the electrician in. Is there any benefit to hooking it up to 3 phase.

Would the short circuit and pulse run any smother. I know it cheaper to run on 3 Phase too. thanks

Hobart conversion from 3ph to 1ph?

Anyone know if/how the Hobart/Miller 304 3ph machine is converted to 1ph?
Anyone got a wiring diagram?

If its the Europe 420/440 60 Hz version forget about it, unless its the auto link which i presume it isn't or you wouldn't be asking, I think north America 3 phase version is 400 amp 50 Hz. not 100% on all this. on the multiphase version 3 phase max is 400 amp/ 1 phase is 250 amp max, i think this also applies to the mighty 350P machine which i demoed. So if your going to do some heavy welding or pulsing 3 phase is better, when your pulsing you can easily peak up to 450 amps!! send miller the serial no. of your 304 and they will tell you exactly what your machine is. I have been on to miller very customer friendly some of the suppliers this side could learn a thing or two from them. Seems they have sold a lot of XMT 304 units into Europe with the auto-link, well they would with the 3 phase issues people have (meaning haven't got) over here.
