I have been using migweld 5 up till recently and have ran out, I have the opportunity to get some gas but have been told it is an air products 15% mix, is this useable for car repairs with thin material or is it just for thicker stuff. If its unsuitable I may sign up with boc for some argoshield light as the y size bottle is good value, far better than anything else I can find either outright purchase or rental.

15% mix is for thicker steel , you want 5% for car body work .

I have enquired at rent free companies today but the costs don't stack up, been quoted £65 deposit but a £72 refill charge on a 20 litre cylinder, whereas boc are about £31.72 inc surcharge for a y size and as the rental is £42.96 inc vat then it seems to make a lot more sense, as I have read the small print on a lot of the rental free bottle suppliers and it appears if bottle kept to long they can request it returned and you lose the gas in them, seems a bit of a con to me as the deposit is almost same as rental but the refill costs are extortionate.
