Having to drive with a migraine must be hell.
My Mum used to get them occasionally, but hasn't had them in years. (touch wood) She used migraleave too.

I hate crowded places. In the past I'd abandonded shopping trolleys (even those which I'd had to put £1 in) when I feel too "threatened". At one time as long as I was within the confines of my own garden I was OK but that has now narrowed to just one room in the house. Luckilly I have a 30+ year history of depression and have see various people, besides my GP, who help me. Without that help I'd probably end curled up on the floor in the corner of a shed as that is how I feel.
What I'm trying to say is if anyone has similar problems don't "suffer in silence" and speak to your doctor. There are lots of alternatives to taking medication (although I need 13 different tablets a day !) so don't automatically assume you'd become a drugged up zombie.

Quite astonishing guys, seems like a common problem.
The one I had yesterday afternoon was initially suppressed by the Migraleve but I started to feel nauseous and had the pressure headache thing later so I just went to bed.
I feel washed out and still nauseous this morning but that should subside during the next few hours.
I'm just thankful I don't suffer them as bad or frequently as some of you have revealed, if I did I think I'd go berserk ! I sincerely hope those that do suffer badly find a cure asap.
There are issues in my life that cause me almost continuous stress, like the worst neighbours imaginable and family problems. Also, I was devastated by the death of my Father, almost 10 years ago now but the loss still affects me deeply. It was complicated by the behaviour of a treacherous family member which has left me feeling very bitter. I don't seem to be able to find closure on it.
I think these issues leave me prone to stress, anxiety and these occasional migraines.
Well at least the weather seems to have turned so maybe some fun of the 2 wheeled variety will help

There are different migraine triggers for different people, I definitely think stress is a big factor.
Luckily they are quite rare for me but when i do get them a lie down in a dark quiet room helps along with appropriate migraine tablets.
I get them less now but used to get them a lot at my old job where I sat in a room with no naturaldaylight under a horrible fluorescent strip light staring at a CRT monitor.
Even at my current job I got replacement tubes for my ceiling light to a natural light / bluey colour which has helped tremendously.
Also getting your vision checked to see if you have any issues / require glasses or stronger glasses.

I get migraine, but I'm lucky in that I only see the pretty colours. I don't get headaches or feel sick.
Sometimes I won't have one for a couple of years and then I go through a spell of a few months when they come regularly. I've never noticed any link with stress, diet or anything else. I haven't bothered to see the quack about them or tried any medicines. As far as I'm concerned they are just a nuisance. I've been getting them for the last 25 years.

Just having an idea of where stress comes from has huge value and that stress is affecting your health.
I think talking it out in forums like this are great - a degree of anonymity, yet a feeling of being among friends - modern age friends but still friends.
Neighbours! The bloke who owned our house before us was a sociopath of the worst kind. Planted fast growing trees to block views, noisy parties and, worst of all, painted a huge swastika on the side of the house that faced his (now our) Polish Jewish neighbours! We moved in and their live changed. So they don't mind my occasional angle grinder session in the driveway in the weekends.
Hang in there. Once I realised that the chest pains, dizzyness etc where mental issues (!) rather than biological or mechanical issues, I'm dealing with it a lot better. The symptoms are much, much reduced, my mental state is much better and overall it's more manageable.

iv only started getting them in the past year or so, my last one was on a sunday evening after id been to a friends birthday the night before so as you can expect i had alot to drink. My caring partner blamed it on a hangover but i could feel exactly what it was.
Iv genuinely only had 10-15 headaches in my life so thought it was really odd to get migranes. I put them down to stress and have to stick a sleeping blindfold on and have an hour or two after some migralieve usually sorts me out

suffered for years when the pain goes across left eye and down to right cheek
go to dark room and lie down for at least 3 hours
other things if i go on a bus/ coach/car i have to sit at the front so i can see the road
if i sit at the back i get migraine /sickness goes on for approx 2/3 days or until i am sick after being sick goes away quite quickly
not too bad now as i don't drive for a living now i try to keep off the migralive pills i find they prolong it im better off just making myself sick

as tigler said im really amazed how many people have this issue.
Really strange to hear that you have to get sick for it to subside/go away octo i absolutely hate the sight or sound of being sick im even worse if it happens to me! another reason why i dont want kids!

that's how it seems to work for me that's why i hate public transport coach's even on a train i have to face the direction of travel to be ok

suppose it's like travel sickness a bit with a bad dose of migraine added in just for good measure ( one's over left eye gave me the flashing lights and bit's of vision missing)
if i take migrative it delays to onslaught a bit and numbs the pain but then comes on with a vengeance when it wears off'
so i prefer to just suffer and be sick if i am not sick takes 2/3 days of feeling ill and sickly light a bad hangover but without the good feeling of being drunk in the first place
i don't suffer much now thank god so i put it down to driving for a living and stress of being told you will be in London at 10am Monday from Doncaster Mondays and Fridays worst days of the week for travel

I've noticed a huge amount of "casual" racism on NZ (and Scotland for that matter), which is pretty standard within mostly white communities where people don't know any better, but don't the NZ authorities have issues with swastikas? You'd get into a wee bit of trouble here (though not as much as in Germany where it is an illegal symbol).

My mate used to bang on about migraines & I just thought "Deal with it, it's a headache". He got the stripes/tunnel vision, lie down in a dark room. "Pussy" I thought.
About 6-7 years ago I started getting them although mine start with a vagueness, maybe dizziness, then pressure behind my right eyeball - feels like someone's kicking it out from the inside. The right side of my face starts going numb accompanied by a banging head. If it goes full on the numbness will go down the right side of my chest - very scary the first time. Can be vomiting.
I could happily sit outside in bright sunlight though - vision's fine.
Migraleve seem to work if I catch it early enough - or was it just a headache?
When the poo hits the proverbial I take Zomig. Makes me feel like I'm being crushed all over, but it's more bearable than the migraine.
I drink loads of coffee, eat chocolate, cheese and they don't trigger me.
I'm damn fortunate that I only seem to get 1-3 full blown ones a year *crosses fingers*
