migmate 150 dead

I was happily welding my Granada for the MoT the other day,and it decided to shut down,no power whatsoever. I've changed the plug fuse,no difference. I was thinking that the Finder relay on the PCB had become defective again,replaced it,no joy.
Where should I test with a multimeter

Start with the mains socket.

check incoming power supply first of all.

if there is nothing going to the welder and you have checked the fuse then it is either going to be supply from the house side of things, or possible a broken cable in the mains lead. The fan and power lights are all connected before the main tranny so they will come on even if the tranny has died or anything on the pcb has fried.

The exact same thing happened to mine today mate and it was the on off switch so I would try that after the above options mate

your probably closer to the problem then a broken wire especially as he didn't move the machine

Thanks Gordon,I'll check that. It's just frustrating when trying to squeeze in the repairs after work and before the free MoT retest. The 7 days has now lapsed,I'll have to pay again

you should get 10 working days

I know,need to speed things up. I will confess,I bought a Clarke 145 today,need to progress. I will inspect the migmate at a later date

at least you can get it done then, I think your Clarke will be much better then the sip

I'm thinking it is better,although flux wire likes to shower spatter. Not admirable when the car is on a 2 post lift and welding a plate on a chassis rail. I'll see if shielding gas set up is better
